Privacy Policy

Voto (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a habit tracking service that integrates with Todoist to help you build identity-based habits. Voto is operated by an individual developer based in Australia. You can contact us at hello@usevoto.com.au.

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:

• From Todoist: Your Todoist user ID, name, email address, profile picture, and the list of your tasks (to let you select habits). We do not store your full Todoist task list — only the tasks you explicitly choose to track as habits.
• Habit data: The habits you create in Voto, their names, emojis, and your identity statements.
• Vote history: Timestamps of when you completed habit tasks, sourced from Todoist webhook events or manual votes.
• Payment data: If you upgrade to Voto Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID — we never see or store your card details.

• To provide the Voto service — tracking your habit completions and showing you your progress.
• To sync with Todoist via webhooks so your completions are recorded automatically.
• To process payments for Voto Pro subscriptions via Stripe.
• To send transactional emails (e.g. receipts) if required.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Voto connects to your Todoist account using OAuth. We request the minimum permissions needed: read access to your tasks and the ability to receive webhook notifications when tasks are completed.

You can revoke Voto's access to your Todoist account at any time from your Todoist settings under Connected Apps.

Your data is stored securely in Supabase, a hosted PostgreSQL database service. Data is stored in data centres within the United States. Supabase implements industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please email hello@usevoto.com.au and we will delete it within 30 days.

Voto uses a single encrypted session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie contains only your user ID and expires when you sign out. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing

Voto uses the following third-party services:

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Voto after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
